Watching Abby as she interacted with Carson and his parents, Tim couldn't help but wonder about their future and if children were involved. His thoughts broke as she leaned against his desk, her arms crossed and a frown on her face.
"What's wrong?" He asked her gently.
"This sucks. I was having fun hanging out with him. I didn't realize how much I liked kids," she said looking at him.
Tim nodded, "yeah, that's why I continue to be the leader for the Youth Rangers."
Abby looked around. Carson and his parents had just left and everyone was gathering up their things. It would be a short weekend with the case that had come up, so everyone was eager to leave. Tim had closed a few folders and grabbed his bag, "come over to my place tonight and we can watch a movie," he suggested.
"So that's what you call it these days, Probie?" Tony asked with a laugh from his desk.
"You know some people do watch movies, Tony, unlike you, who use movies to sleep with a girl," Tim snapped.
"Whoa, Probie in a bad mood," Tony replied in defense.
Tim took a deep breath and looked at Tony, "I've had a long few days."
"Guys, just chill," Abby stood up between Tim and Tony. "See you Monday," she commented to Tony, and then turned to Tim, "I'll bring the movie, you get dinner?" She asked curiously.
"Sounds good," he said with a nod ignoring Tony faces.
Abby placed a kiss on his lips, "see you in a while," she said leaving the office with a wave to everyone else.
Tim quickly finished gathering his things and headed out to his car. Before he left the garage, he called an order in to their favorite Chinese place. Leaving the lot, he methodically took his normal route, but made a slight detour to pick up their dinner before returning to his apartment.
Setting dinner on the kitchen counter, he put away a few books and magazines before going into his room and taking a quick shower. He wasn't sure how long it would take Abby to get there, but wasn't concerned since they'd exchanged keys a few weeks prior.
After he got dressed, he became concerned about her since she wasn't there yet, so he went to his backpack and pulled out his phone to call her, but heard a knock on the door, so he set the phone down on the counter. Reaching the door, he turned the knob and pulled it open to reveal a very dressed down Abby. "Hey, you made it," he smiled, extending his hand to her.
Abby took it and let him guide her inside before she spoke, "I did. I wouldn't miss time with you," she said removing her sun glasses as he closed the door.
Tim stepped in front of her, about to kiss her when he saw her red eyes, "oh my god, Abbs, what's wrong? Are you alright?" He asked with a concerned look on his face.
"I um..." She paused and closed her eyes for a moment to try and figure out how to explain why she'd been crying. "I got upset on the way here. Not because of you, just... I think I got a taste of children more in the last few days and it... It started my biological clock," she said softly. "I mean, well it's always been there, but just accelerated it."
"You mean you want to have a child?" Tim asked calmly.
"Yes, I mean... I don't know..." She sighed, "That's why I was crying. I want to have a baby, but look at the crazy and long hours I work; I can't bring a child into this."
Tim studied her features for a moment and rested his hands on her shoulders gently, "you know I'm not going to let you go, right?" Tim asked.
She nodded, "yeah I do, Tim, but I'd understand if ---"
Tim silenced her with a loving kiss before pulling away, "promise me we can get married first," he murmured gently.
