"Abby, I'm so sorry."
"We need to talk..." Abby started...
"I know this is all my fault," Tim started.
"Agent McGregor can't marry Amy in the end," shaking her head, "McGee, they're all wrong for each other."
...End of show...
Gibbs had stepped aside so they could talk, and now Tim just wanted to break apart. Even after he and Abby had agreed to continue to be 'just friends' he always wanted to bring Amy and Agent McGregor together in his book.
"Abby, its fiction...I... There's so much I want to talk to you about, but we agreed to be just friends and I don't want to loose your friendship," he said.
Gibbs found this a good time to take his leave, so he stepped outside to give them some privacy.
She looked at Tim, "I think we should talk now. We both have a lot to say."
"Yeah, I think so, too," he agreed.
Moving over to the couch, Abby sat down and removed her bonnet, setting it next to her hippo. "Where should we start?" She asked.
Tim nervously sat next to her on the couch, "I'm sorry I got you into this mess. If I would have known, I would have done something sooner to protect you," he said softly.
"You would have?" She asked quietly.
"I would have, Abbs, you mean so much to me. I never want anything to happen to you; especially because of me or my books," he murmured, resisting the urge to run his hand through her hair.
She smiled at him and moved closer, "did you mean what you said about Agent McGregor always loving Amy?"
Tim swallowed nervously, "yeah I did," he nodded looking at her.
"Does that mean that I'm the only person you've ever loved?" She asked softly wanting to know the truth.
"Abby, I... Well..." Tim looked at her, then closed his eyes and sorted out how to say what he wanted, but realized he didn't want to beat around the bush any more, he nodded and finally admitted it to her, "yes, you are," he said, bracing himself for her words.
"I love you, too, Timmy," she said with a smile.
As he did his best to brace himself, her words didn't hit him yet, so he started with, "I mean, I do love you, Abby, but if you don't feel the ---" Tim paused as he realized what her words had been and grinned, "what? You do?"
"I do, Tim, more than just friends," she admitted, "I just was confused and well, I didn't see how you could want to be with me. Our interests and almost everything are so different."
He shook his head and brushed her hair from her face, "that's what I love about you. You're so different from me, but we can still talk and understand each other. And you're hot," he added leaning in for a kiss.
She met him in the middle and pressed her moist lips against his, hoping to express how she really feels about him. Tim ran his hands through her hair as they kissed, not wanting to break apart, but the call of nature told him to come up for air, so he reluctantly pulled away from her and smiled, "I take it we're together now?" He asked gently.
Abby grinned and hugged him, "we are, Tim, and I think we always have been," she whispered the last part in his ear.
Tim smiled and held her close for a long moment, soaking it in and not wanting to forget.
